Following a recent move to Pittsburgh, Caitlin O’Connor and Joe Manganiello are facing a new set of winter challenges. But it’s given the TV host a new opportunity to gush over her fiancé.

“I watched Joe shovel snow in our driveway for two and half hours yesterday,” O’Connor, 36, tells PEOPLE. “It was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.”

During an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, the actress confirmed she and theMagic Mikestar recently moved from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh, where they both grew up — specifically to the suburb of Mount Lebanon, Penn.

“It was the first snow of the season in Mount Lebanon and it was… It’s like a postcard here. I’ve never been in a beautiful neighborhood in Pittsburgh,” she says.

She adds the “yellow cobblestone road” adds to the “idyllic” nature of the community. But seeing Manganiello in the snow is another bonus.

“It was just the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” she says. “He definitely has kept his hottest bachelor title that (PEOPLE) gave him, but how I’m feeling, I’m gonna take that title back because we’re getting married.”

O’Connor tells PEOPLE that what really “connects” them as a couple is sharing the “same upbringing” and the “same hometown knowledge,” adding “it’s beautiful to be back home together.”

“I mean, L.A. has been both of our homes for over 20 years,” she says. “I was born in L.A., but raised in Pittsburgh, so we’re both from the same hometown.”

For the holidays, O’Connor says expecting she and Manganiello are expecting a “big family celebration,” and that family is either traveling to Pittsburgh for Christmas or already live in the area.

It will also be an opportunity for the couple to display their impressive collection of holiday decorations.

“Joe and I have been sort of on a world tour since we met. We’ve traveled a lot … to over 70 cities in the last two years,” O’Connor says.

“So we have ornaments from all over the world. We try to collect a piece of art from all over the world and bring it back.”

She adds: “It’s been amazing to be with a partner who travels so much. And we’ve gotten to see so much of the world together over the past two years.”
