The Government Allows Roscosmos To Negotiate With NASA To Extend The Joint Flight Agreement
The document stated: “Acceptance of the proposal of the Roscosmos State Corporation, coordinated with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant federal executive bodies, to conduct negotiations on concluding a fourth annex to the Convention on the Implementation of the Convention on Integrated Crew Flights on Board Russian and American Manned Transport Ships.”
The agreement was initially signed by Roscosmos and NASA in July 2022. The program ensures reliable operation of the International Space Station by ensuring the presence of at least one Russian astronaut and one American astronaut on board this station, even in the event of an emergency.
Then the two parties signed three annexes to the agreement. The latest of these stipulates the operation of flights with mixed crews in the period 2025-2026.
