This partnership represents the first time that this category of tournaments will be held outside traditional destinations, as Saudi Arabia will become the tenth destination to host the “Masters 1000 Points” tournament for the Association of Tennis Professionals, along with nine other destinations that include Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Rome, Toronto/Montreal, Cincinnati, Shanghai, and Paris. The tournament is scheduled to be hosted in Saudi Arabia in 2028 at the earliest.

This partnership represents the beginning of a new phase for tennis in Saudi Arabia and the world, as it will contribute to attracting the game’s most prominent stars to Saudi Arabia and providing an unprecedented experience for fans.

Hosting this tournament reflects the Public Investment Fund’s commitment to consolidating the future of tennis and the global sports sector, and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s reputation as a leading center for hosting the most prominent global sports and entertainment events.

This agreement falls within the framework of the existing strategic partnership between the Fund and the Association of Tennis Professionals, which includes the Fund’s role as the official naming partner for the PIF ATP Rankings and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Rankings, as the partnership includes cooperation in organizing a number of major events for the Association of Tennis Professionals Tour, and the launch of the ATP Tennis IQ technical platform. Supported by the Fund, under the agreement the new tournament will join the Association of Tennis Professionals and the existing Masters 1000 tournaments as a shareholder of ATP Media, the global broadcast and media arm of the Association of Tennis Professionals.
