NEED TO KNOW
- On Oct. 21, Travis Kelce announced he’s investing in Six Flags as a “lifelong” superfan of the theme park company
- During an Oct. 22 episode of his and brother Jason’s New Heights podcast, he teased a possible “Kelce roller coaster” and explained what it might look like
- The Kansas City Chiefs player noted that it would need to have “a few drops,” and named a number of other thrills it would have
Travis Kelce is officially an investor in Six Flags — and he’s already brainstorming ride ideas for the theme park company!
On Wednesday, Oct. 21, it was announced that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, had invested in the company in partnership with New York City-based investment firm JANA Partners.
During an Oct. 22 episode of his podcast New Heights — which he hosts with brother Jason Kelce37 — the NFL star discussed the partnership and what his own ride would look like if he ever created one.
After Jason introduces his brother as an official “roller-coaster tycoon,” he then asks Travis, “Are we gonna get a Kelce roller coaster?”

While Travis first responds, “I’m just dipping my toes in the water right now,” his brother continues the conversation until he gets a few more details out of him.
“Well, let’s just play, in the land of make believe, what would a Kelce roller coaster consist of? Big drop?” Jason asks.
Travis — an Ohio native who grew up going to Cedar Point amusement park, which merged with Six Flags in 2024 — then gets into the description of his ideal ride, noting some of the thrills it would absolutely need to have.
“It’s gotta have a few drops in there. One or two. I don’t know about a Millennium Force drop, but definitely loops,” he explains, referring to the Cedar Point roller coaster.
Jason then asks, “Is it a shoulder harness or seated bar? Or one of these crazy ones where you’re, like, standing or you’re, like, flying.”
Travis responds, “It’s gotta be a shoulder harness. I love the Raptor because it was like your feet were dangling. And I like that, being a big guy. I don’t gotta worry about my height being an issue on this thing.”

Reflecting on more of his favorite rides as a kid, he explains how an indoor setup might be a possibility if his “Kelce roller coaster” ever came to fruition.
“And then on top of that, one of my favorite rides was always the indoor rides. I always thought those were some of the coolest ones because you could just turn the lights off in those things, and you didn’t know where you were going.”
When Jason asks if he would do a wooden roller coaster, Travis immediately answers, “No way,” to his brother’s disappointment. Jason explains how he loves the “shakiness” to wooden rides as it makes him “more scared” and gets his “adrenaline pumping.”
Wrapping the conversation up, Jason has one more question for his brother: “What would 9-year-old Travis Kelce think of owning a theme park?”
“I mean, golly. I can’t even put myself in my 9-year-old shoes, man,” Travis says. “You could just be a kid forever. I got my prestige season pass ready to rock and roll as soon as the (football) season’s over with. I’ll go up there and hit the park, and I’m going to try and get to as many as I can this off season. You know, lay my eyes on everything Six Flags has to offer outside of just Ohio.”

Along with Travis, JANA Partners said it is working with other high-profile business people in yesterday’s announcement, specifically to “enhance shareholder value and improve the guest experience” at Six Flags theme parks. The group of investors own about 9% of economic interest in the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
In a press releaseTravis added, “I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends. The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”
During the latest New Heights episode, he also elaborated more on why this partnership holds a special place in his heart.
“I could not pass this opportunity up,” he said. “I’m teaming up with JANA Partners, with Six Flags and Cedar Fair. We’re gonna be a part of the theme park and amusement parks that absolutely rocked our world as kids and hopefully give families nowadays the fun and the memories that we had and we cherished growing up. I’m so excited for this.”
