Emma Stone is taking a trip to the ‘90s.

The 36-year-old Oscar-winning actress was spotted in Midtown New York on Wednesday, Oct. 22, in an archival Donna Karan look, which happened to be the same set memorably worn by Gwyneth Paltrow in 1998’s Great Expectations.

Stone posed for paparazzi on the streets of the Big Apple, showing off a vintage long-sleeved top with a collar and single clasp, pairing it with the matching maxi skirt from Donna Karan’s spring/summer 1996 collection.

For shoes, the Poor Things star wore Manolo Blahnik Susa mules in black leather. The kitten heels with a crossover design retail for $895.

Paltrow, 53, first introduced the world to the silk set cemented in film history in the 1998 romantic drama directed by Alfonso Cuarón and written by Mitch Glazer. The movie was an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations.

Ethan Hawke stars as Finnegan “Finn” Bell, a naïve young man who falls for Paltrow’s Estella in the New York-set film.

In an April 2021 Vogue Life In Looks interview, the Goop founder discussed why the outfit has remained a fan favorite for decades.

“So, this is Great Expectations. This was a Donna Karan outfit. All of my clothes in that movie were Donna Karan, pretty much,” Paltrow said in a video as she sat at a table reading a lookbook of her best fashion moments.

She recalled going to her first costume meeting with the designer and being told “everything in the movie was green.”

“Every set, every fabric, every costume. And I thought she was kidding,” the Iron Man actress said.

Scenes and stills from the classic film played over the video interview as Paltrow added, “I had remembered that Donna had done a very green collection and it just so happened that it was all kind of perfect, and perfectly nineties, and elegant, and perfect for this character. It’s so funny that this look got so much – and continues to get so much -traction.”

Paltrow believes that a “really sexy” moment between her and Hawke, now 54, where their characters “sort of like make out with a water fountain” helped cement the look as a major ‘90s style moment, even decades later.

“That was a career highlight, by the way,” Paltrow joked.

Stone, who rocked a daring pixie cut during awards season, has also been making headlines for her style as of late — particularly for opening up about shaving her head for her role in Bugonia.

At a September Q&A for the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed sci-fi comedy, the La La Land star recalled “panicking” about the thought of shaving her head on-camera, leaving no room for error in one take.

Stone sad that thinking of her mother Krista, who was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in 2008, helped her cope with the decision.

“And I was like, I’m shaving my head because I get to do what I love, and my mom was there with me, and I was like, ‘What a gift! It’s hair,’” Stone said. “So it was actually one of the greatest experiences of my life, very freeing, and it’s just hair. I thought it would be longer by now, but it’s just hair!”
