Katy Perry’s recent date night with Justin Trudeau in Tokyo appeared to be drastically different from a similar one spent with ex Orlando Bloom a year earlier.

The singer, 41,

from time spent in Japan for her Lifetimes Tour on Saturday, Dec. 6. Among them was a video of Perry and Trudeau, 53 — marking their Instagram debut as a couple — at a sushi restaurant.

Perry can be seen trying uni, a local delicacy, in the clip, while Trudeau watches on with a smile. “Tokyo times on tour and ( ◠‿◠ ) 🎄🍣🐡🥞💐☃️♥️,” Perry captioned the post.

The143artist shared a clip from what appeared to be the same restaurant in an Instagram video last year.

The caption accompanying that post read, “Sending love to all in this next year… the new year is always an opportunity for transformation… as a 5x ♏️ transformation is my middle name… ✨.”

“We put the OK in tOKyo for NY 🎊🎍,” Perry added.

PEOPLE reached out to representatives for both Perry and Bloom for comment on Sunday, Dec. 7, but did not receive an immediate response.

Perry and Trudeau first sparked romance rumors over the summer, when they were spotted on a date in Montreal, Canada.

At the time of their first public outing, the “Bandaid” musician had recently split from her ex-fiancé in June.

Trudeau, meanwhile, had separated from his wifeSophie Grégoire, after 18 years of marriage in 2023.

Perry and Bloom were together for nine years and share daughter Daisy Dove5.

A source previously told PEOPLE that Trudeau had “been pursuing” the Grammy nominee since their dates in Montreal.

“He even flew to California to see her during a tour break,” the insider said. “They have an easy connection. She finds him attractive. He’s been very respectful.”

Perry and Trudeau made their first public appearance as a couple on Oct. 25. They attended a cabaret show at the Crazy Horse Paris to mark the mom of one’s birthday, according to TMZ.

In photos, the pair could be seen walking out of the theater while holding hands and smiling.
