TheReal Housewives of Atlantastar, 44, was seen exiting a Delta Airlines flight in the Atlanta airport, accompanied by law enforcement. Her lawyer, Joe Habachy, told PEOPLE on Tuesday, Nov. 18, that Williams exited the aircraft after she was “verbally assaulted by an irate and unhinged passenger without provocation.”

Atlanta Police Department
Habachy says that Williams is “pleased” by the news. However, she and Habachy are not “surprised” because “there was never a physical encounter and given that the allegations made against Ms. Williams by this unhinged passenger were blatantly false from the beginning,” he explained.
“Sadly, nothing can undo the unfortunate and damaging press frenzy that ensued as a result of these false allegations with many headlines that were downright defamatory,” Habachy says. “At a minimum, Ms. Williams is owed apologies by this passenger and by every publication that furthered the unsubstantiated storyline at Ms. Williams’ expense.”
He also says that the Bravo star is thankful “to the many witnesses who took time from their schedules to come forward and provide statements to law enforcement and to the Agents who worked so hard to uncover the truth.”
Two days before Williams was cleared, the Atlanta Police Department released bodycam footage of Williams and the other passenger separately sharing their accounts of the incident.
During Williams’ account, two separate passengers walked by and checked in on her. One witness told the officer that what the other passenger said was “reprehensible.”
“The woman got in your face and gave you the middle finger, and was doing things that were completely chaotic to you,” the first witness said.
Meanwhile, a second witness came forward and told the officer, “The only physical thing (Williams) did was point at her. And it was for some reason that just escalated to this point, where all (Williams) was saying was, ‘Don’t talk to me like that.’ ”
