An achievement for Palestine and Syria

At the Education City Stadium in Doha, in the presence of about 40,000 spectators, the Palestinian “Fedayeen” team achieved an unprecedented qualification after five previous participations during which they were eliminated from the first round of the tournament that began in 1963 in Beirut.

Meanwhile, the Syrian team, “Nusour Qasioun,” secured its qualification for the first time since the 1992 edition, in its eighth participation in the tournament, in which it finished as runner-up three times (1963, 1966, and 1988).

“Fedayeen” striker Uday Al-Dabbagh said, “We are very happy to lead the group that included two great teams such as Qatar and Tunisia, and we congratulate all the Palestinian fans.”

Qualification means a lot to the Syrians

According to the site green Syria striker Mahmoud Al-Mawas said, “The team’s qualification means a lot to the Syrians because it was achieved during the Liberation Day celebrations, corresponding to Monday, December 8,” noting that “the team played the tournament step by step… and now all thoughts will focus on the quarter-final match.”

Wearing the Palestinian national team’s shirt, Syrian star Omar Khribin said that the main goal was achieved by qualifying for the quarter-finals, adding that “the team is new and includes young players. It needs time and must be patient with it.”
