Beloved HGTV Star Hilary Farr, 74, Forced To Address Devastating Health Rumors

Love It or List It’s Hilary Farr has been forced to address rumors she was ill after an AI-video claimed the actress had received ‘devastating’ news about her health.

The HGTV star, 74, took to Instagram to share that she is ‘alive and well’ following the false report, calling it ‘fake beyond words.’

InAI-generated images circulating online, the reality star was seen with an oxygen mask on, along with the headline: ‘She might not make it.’

The post was captioned: ‘The physician caring for Hilary Farr’s cancer has provided a devastating update on her health: “She might never be seen on TV in the future.”‘

However, Farr refuted the claims by sharing a video on social media on Thursday.

‘Ta daaa,’ she said in a video, with the false news reports in the background.

‘I’m alive. Very, very, very much so alive and well, I’m happy to say,’ Farr continued.

‘Look at this thing, really?!’ she said, pointing out the flaws in the images, calling it ‘crazy, AI stuff.’

‘So, look at this thing. Really. It’s so badly done,’ the TV star declared. ‘I hope none of you would really take any of this seriously and realize it is just fake beyond words.’

‘Well, I’m here to prove that. So, just checking in. All’s good with me, hope all’s good with you.’

Relieved fans flooded the comments section of the design expert’s post.

‘Nice to see you! This AI stuff is getting old and out of hand! So happy you’re addressing it! Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend!’ one fan wrote.

‘Thank God you are healthy and thank you for setting the record straight! Happy Holidays to you and your family,’ a second fan wrote.

Someone else said: ‘Now there is something to see about yourself! You are looking fabulous and HEALTHY as always!’

Farr, who left Love It or List It in 2023, has previously opened up about her health battles.

In 2021, the TV personality revealed to People that she had a secret battle with breast cancer.

Farr said she underwent a routine mammogram in 2012when her doctors found a suspicious lump that was removed and determined to be precancerous.

The designer told the media outlet that, following the procedure, she felt ‘so much relief. I moved on.’

But the battle did not end there, with Farr undergoing another mammogram in 2014, and she was subsequently diagnosed with invasive breast cancer.

The reality television figure said that she underwent another lumpectomy, which appeared to have eradicated the cancer at first.

She recalled: ‘I was signed off by the medical oncologist saying, “You’re done. You’re fine. Off you go.”‘

Farr then revealed that her oncologist had falsely told her that radiation therapy, which is generally given following surgery as a preventative measure, would not be necessary in her case.

The reality television personality remarked that the medical professional’s inaction was particularly distressing.

She recalled that she ‘was terrified, because I knew I had a very small window’ to receive radiation therapy.

Farr also expressed anger about the oncologist’s actions, and revealed that she ‘felt absolute fury that someone could be so flippantly wrong.’

The designer declined to publicly name the doctor and medical facility from where she received treatment during the interview.
