A food truck that opens for business only on select days in a Sydney‘s north shore is attracting hour-long lines of hungry customers.

Sneaky Buff, a food truck that sells Taiwanese fried chicken and snacks in Chatswood Mall Market, has been attracting large crowds.

The food truck sets up on a weekly basis at the market, which is open from Thursday through Saturday from 11am-9pm.

There, they serve countless takeaway boxes of their signature Taiwanese Fried Chicken, priced at $15 for a large size or $13.50 for a small.

An onlooker told Daily Mail Australia that despite Sneaky Buff being one of many takeaway stalls operating in the mall, they were ‘the only one with a line’.

She noted that the food truck attracted ‘a super long line of enthusiastic customers – with the line only appearing to get longer and longer as time went on’.

They also observed that some of the popular menu items were ‘already sold out by 6pm’.

‘It smelled like heaven,’ she added.

A prime reason the Sneaky Buff food truck has built a loyal following is largely due to rave online reviews of its specialty fried chicken.

Popular Sydney Foodie Emily, who posts under her @milkandbagels account, shared a video explaining that she had heard multiple recommendations about a Chatswood food truck making ‘really good Taiwanese fried chicken’ – and had to see for herself.

The Hong Kong-born foodie said that her visit to Sneaky Buff didn’t disappoint, explaining in her review video post that the steaming hot chicken was ‘crispy’ – but not dry – and seasoned in ‘an addictive coating’.

Emily also noted that the traditional fried chicken comes in a ‘super generous’ serving size – and is accompanied by helpings of basil and fresh garlic.

Another Sydney foodie who was thoroughly impressed by Sneaky Buff’s signature fried chicken was online reviewer @Wektyy.

The distinctive seasoning was what made the crispy chicken a standout, according to him.

‘It reminds me of the seasoning you get from noodle packets, half of it. And then the other half like this sweet side to it,’ he explained in a review video.

Other popular menu items available at the food truck include their Taiwanese Plum Powder Filled Sweet Potatoes, Taiwanese Tempura Fish Cake, Fried Cuttlefish and Taiwanese Sticky Glutinous Rice.

Mushroom-based dishes also feature on the menu, with a choice of either Juicy Fried King Oyster Mushrooms or Flavoured Fried Shimeji Mushrooms.

And if you’re looking to end your Taiwanese feast on a sweet note, then you’ll definitely want to add on the Crispy Fried Sweet Rolls with Condensed Milk.

On Google Reviews, Sneaky Buff also boasts an impressive 4.9 star rating.

Among the glowing reviews are a number from people of Taiwanese descent, praising the food truck for its ‘super authentic flavour’.

‘This is the most authentic fried chicken in Australia, and I have visited many Taiwanese restaurants across Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne,’ read one review from someone originally from Taiwan.

Another five-star review praised Sneaky Buff as ‘The best Taiwanese fried chicken I (have) ever had in Sydney.’

‘Highly recommended!’ they added, awarding the food truck a perfect five stars.

And it’s just not just their fried chicken winning customers over.
