A 19-year-old Player Dies After A Match In The Kazakh League

The club announced the news through its official Instagram account, noting that the incident occurred in the city of Almaty during the match against the Ekibastuz team, which ended in a victory for the home team (4-0).

In the 62nd minute of the match, Tulio suddenly felt unwell, so he sat on the field and asked his teammates for help to relieve the pain in his legs.

Moments later, his condition worsened sharply, and he was carried off the field on a stretcher. Despite attempts to revive him, he was later pronounced dead.

Tulio is one of the academy graduates of the prestigious Kairat club, and he moved to Khan Tengri at the beginning of the 2024-2025 season as a free transfer.

This season, he participated in 25 matches, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists.

The Kazakh Football Association offered its condolences to the player’s family and his club, announcing the opening of an official investigation to determine the causes of the sudden death, amid calls in the sports community to enhance periodic medical examinations for young players.
